Participant Information

Welcome to our artists from near and far. We are very excited to host you at CollaboratioNZ in 2023. Event is Friday 10th March - 19th March.

Meals and accommodation are included in your participation of CollaboratioNZ.

All those needing transport from Whangarei city to the CollaboratioNZ Site. Tell us your arrival times and you can be met in central Whangarei, bus depot or Whangarei airport.

Note: there is no WIFI at the camp. SPARK offers the best mobile reception in the area.

The Collab campsite is 30km from the centre of Whangarei City. We recommend staying on-site as much as possible to make art and enjoy the event. If you need to purchase items such as beverages, snacks etc, you will be able to catch a ride with one of the locals.

Set Up and arrivals

We are accepting registrations on Friday the 10^th of March from 10am. The official Pōwhiri opening ceremony is at 4.30pm. There will be no art-making before this time. Marquees and power are installed on the Weds 8^th, transportation of equipment and pack-in is all day Thursday and also Friday morning. If you do arrive before Friday midday, there is an expectation to ‘muck-in’ and assist in the general set-up of the event.

Bring: Swimming gear, raincoat, personal safety gear, towels, torches, bedding, a sense of adventure, and some mosquito repellent.

To be most effective as a participating artist I would like the following equipment and materials supplied that I cannot personally bring, (eg anvil, large quantity of clay, spray paint etc)

Can you recommend any suppliers to approach for sponsorship? Are you willing to approach these suppliers yourself with supporting documentation from the trust?

Slideshow. On the opening evening we introduce all artists via a slideshow. If you haven't already, please provide 3 images of your art you would like to share with the group. Please feel free to bring any other publications, print or digital media to share with other artists (and public) throughout the event.

Some of the artmaking and sculptural activities involve an element of risk. While the Trust will take all practical steps to reduce the risks to acceptable levels, supply clear instruction in safe practices and equipment use and make anyone who is participating aware of the level of risk in each activity, all activities require a shared responsibility to reduce risks.

*Health and Safety

By submitting this form you are agreeing that you are aware of the risks, you have provided relevant personal medical information and will carry any personal medication that you may require and that you agree to act in a safe and responsible manner at all times.

I also understand that the work and creative processes at CollaboratioNZ 2025 carry with them intrinsic hazards, and agree to release the CollaboratioNZ committee from any liability in case any injury is suffered at CollaboratioNZ 2025.

Use any artwork (or photographic images) created in connection with CollaboratioNZ 2025 for educational and promotional purposes. (CollaboratioNZ Trust reserves the right to show the artwork via print, digital media, televised media or exhibitions with the usual credits.)

Use still and video photographs of me taken at CollaboratioNZ 2025 for educational and promotional purposes.

Include my name and email for a participants list which will be distributed only to the CollaboratioNZ 2025 participants.

I understand and agree that all artwork created during the event becomes the property of the CollaboratioNZ Trust and will be sold to help cover event costs and seed the next CollaboratioNZ event.
